I just graduated from a top national university with a degree in History and English. I don’t know a great deal about finance, but I learn quick and work hard. Do I stand a chance?
I’m reading on a lot of websites that you have to be a great salesperson. Is this true? Can the art of sales be learned?
scully, are there a lot of broker firms that will rip you off?

ABC Corp. has offered one million shares having a total market value of million for XYZ Corp. After the merger is announced, shares in ABC trade for each. If ABC is confident about XYZ’s value, what has happened to the cost of the merger?

It increases by million.
It decreases by million.
It increases by million.
It remains constant.

im in this online finance class, just your basic finance, and am having problems with a couple of questions….I was wondering if anyone out there knows step by step how to do these problems and could explain them to me?!

heres some examples.:

How much must you have in the bank today if you wish to make 21 annual withdrawals of ,000, if the first withdrawal occurs x amount of year from now and interest rates are 9%?

and the other type of question im having problems with is:

You deposit ,000 into an account that pays 11% interest. How much will this grow to after 13 years, if interest is compounded 2 times per year?

and the last:

You plan to make 16 annual deposits of ,000 into a retirement account, with the first deposit being made 8 years from now. How much will be in the account 35 years from now, if interest rates are 7%?

I copied and pasted the disclaimer on my account:

Your balance of 1.27 will have no finance charges if paid before
03/03/2010. If not fully paid, finance charges dating back to the date of purchase will be added to
your account.
We have removed the minimum-rate threshold for Variable APRs. This is positive news. If your account is subject to a Variable APR, that APR may now fall as determined by decreases in the prime rate; it is no longer held to a minimum rate.

what exactly does that mean? I bought them in september for 76.57.

I didn’t realize I wouldn’t be able to make the last 200$ payment before march 3rd and I’m concerned on what kind of penalty they are going to slap on to my account. Will it be the finance charge of the entire amount of what i bought them for? Or just what is left?
appreciate any help on this one!
