Dollar of Doom
The world of monsters, which is usually a pretty world full of valuable scenery falls into hard times when their beautiful scenery vanishes. It is like all of the value of their world has been sucked away! As the cartoon progresses we learn that the monster’s world is merely a set on a stage. It turns out that the company that was hosting the show has run into the unpleasant spook of depletion, a not so rare sickness where money looses value. This haunting haunt has scared off the stage scenery because the company’s money can no longer afford it, because the company was spooked from buying things of increasing value and things that will put money back into their pockets because lack of knowledge. As the cartoon continues a monster finds a dollar bill and says “we need you”. Then the dollar begins to crack and it falls apart! The stage manager shows up and screams how their money lost all of its value and they can no longer afford the set. She asks the money doctor “What happened?” Then the money doctor takes us into his mind and shows us how money looses value if the government prints too much of it. This is the problem of depletion! At the end we learn that the only way to fight of this fright of depletion is to put money into things that will increase in value and put money back into your pocket.
