I’m also intending to take some tests and try to prepare an MBA hopefully in finance. I want gto become a financial analyst, which experience do I need, which departement should I work for or which classes should I take to help me reach my goal. any advice is appreciated thnks

What are the pros and cons of each of them? How much does each make in salary and how long does it take to study each of them? I am trying to decide what to go for when I go to university.

If I pursued a career in Finance would I make more with an MBA or a PhD? Thanks.

I go to Bentley College, a small business school near Boston that has strong finance/accounting programs. I am looking to break into investment banking when I graduate. However, I feel at a huge disadvantage because I do not go to a prestigious university.

Each year, big i-banks such as Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, and JP Morgan hire college graduates with only a bachelors degree from the likes of Harvard, Princeton, Yale, and even some non-Ivies like Carnegie Mellon. I am not one of those people. However, I do boast a very good GPA and plan on getting a finance internship this coming summer.

With that said, how are my chances of landing a position at one of the big investment banks in NYC? And if they are indeed low, what can I do to obtain that type of position without an MBA? Remember, I am looking to break in with just a B.S. in finance, but without the brand name.

I am a student at the Ross School of Buisness at the University of Michigan.(Attended for undergrad and grad)
This year I will be graduating from grad school receiving an MBA and my GPA has been 4.0 all through undergrad and grad studies.
I have also had 5 different internships in settings of finance and buisness, one of which was at goldman sachs.
How likely am i to get a job with them right out of college?

I noticed on a few job listings, it has a requirement of a finance degree or an accounting degree or related field and it also states that an MBA is preferable.

Out of curisosity, i have an undergrad degree in an unrelated field (biomedical sciences) and an MBA, would the lack of an undergrad business degree rule me out? I know it seems like a dumb question because i’d have an MBA already, but the way it’s worded, some job descriptions actually require an UNDERGRAD business degree.

Are there any employers out there that can shed light on this question?

Thanks

Just curious what would put me in a good position for IB ..

Not sure if I should go Commerce (Concentration in Finance and International Business) and an MBA, or Economics and an MBA.
I’m not attending a famous University, it’s going to be either Carleton or OttawaU, but If I have these degrees and can speak English and Mandarin, would I have good odds of finding a job?
Also, what kind of things would Investment Banking entail?
